Shahrukh as the most boring man in the world
{FILM SPOTTING}
Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (India, 2008)
Polish Distributor: None yet I think… But Epelpol seems to be picking up most of the new YRF films and nowadays a new Shahrukh release is unlikely not to eventually get distribution in Poland.
Release Date: 12th December 2008 (India)
Director: Aditya Chopra
Cast: Shahrukh Khan, Anushka Sharma
Production House: Yash Raj Films
Plot: They’re being very cagey about the plot. They released a song promo before releasing the synopsis and when they finally released one it turned out to be very vague. So I guess that’s about as much as we’re going to get - it’s the love story of the most boring man in the world :]
Why it might be worth seeing
I’m not entirely sure it will be ;) But I guess I’m always excited when something new with Shahrukh comes out. This has the added benefit of being directed by Aditya Chopra - he hasn’t directed anything in ages and after all, he’s the man behind Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge…
I am a little hesitant about it though. The promos just don’t look that enticing, nor does the very vague plot… Then again I thought the same of Chak De! India *grin*
Tell me what you think - promos are below :)
The Promos
It started with the first song promo:
Don’t know about you, but I don’t like it much. The bloopers from the making of this song are fabulous though ;) The whole making of can be found here, but I would particularly want to recommend two clips from it. The first one probably amuses me just because my sense of humour is stupid and nobody else will laugh ;) I think my amusement factor has something to do with that the character is rather ungainly, so making mistakes means being clumsy in the act of being clumsy ;) But the second clip is self-explanatory - what he’s doing is just completely ridiculous ;)
Next came the theatrical trailer:
And finally another song with the alter ego or whoever Shahrukh’s second look in the film is supposed to be…
So, opinions? :) Am I the odd one out for not being that keen on the promos? Generally they seem to be getting positive responses on-line.
