Why it might be worth seeing
I’ve been following this film for a long time. The first time I heard about it was well over a year ago, when gossip started circulating that Danny Boyle had had a meeting with Shahrukh Khan about his next movie. This was followed up with rumours that either Shahrukh Khan or Amitabh Bachchan would have a cameo in Boyle’s film as the host of the Indian version of the “Who wants to be a millionaire?” TV show. Amitabh Bachchan had been the host of the show for a long time and Shahrukh took over two years ago, so they were both natural choices. But the rumours were either false or they both turned it down because rumours soon started circulating that it was Anil Kapoor who had bagged the role and that finally turned out to be true ;)
At first it was only the rumour mill that engaged my curiosity cause the storyline sounded rather cliché and once it was confirmed that neither Shahrukh Khan nor Amitabh Bachchan was in it I slightly lost interest. But that was obviously very stupid of me cause the film has had an amazing response. It won the People’s Choice Award at Toronto and there’s some serious Oscar buzz surrounding it. Pretty much any reviews you find are raving about it. For example check this out:

The best thing is that we already have a distribution date for Poland ;) So I’m really looking forward to it :)
