My Fangirl Moment
So, er, I accidentally stumbled upon a pic of Daniel Radcliffe smoking. And to my own surprise I found it bothered me! The weird thing is that most of the actors and celebrities I like are smokers and it has never disturbed me before. I mean for example Shahrukh Khan, Robert Pattinson and Tom Felton are all smokers. So for the last half hour I’ve been trying to figure out why this particular celebrity smoking is such a big deal for me lol
And now I have a theory *grin* I think it’s partly because his image has always been squeaky clean. I mean like he’s been a prime target for the paparazzi since his early teens and he’s never even been photographed holding a beer or a glass of wine. And I think part of what I enjoy about him as a celebrity is that he has this really clean image and yet he does and says all these “naughty” things. There are few celebrities, who have the image and sense of humour to pull off something like his cameo on Extras a few years ago (smoking was one of the jokes).
All in all, I guess I just realized how the Robert Pattinson fangirls that I’ve been laughing at felt upon discovering he was going to play a gay man ;) Although I guess for me this doesn’t really change my feelings for Daniel Radcliffe much. Well, except that I’m probably not going to find that smoking scene in the Extras cameo as funny as I used to :]
